ALEXA CHUNG TO HOST 7TH ANNUAL SCOTTISH FASHION AWARDS IN ASSOCIATION WITH INSTYLE AT CLYDE AUDITORIUM ON 11TH JUNE 2012
Glasgow The Scottish Fashion Awards have announced today that international style icon Alexa Chung will host the 7th annual fashion extravaganza, which will take place in a new venue, The Clyde Auditorium on Monday 11th June 2012, Scotland.
Through her work as a TV presenter and model, Alexa Chung is a hugely influential figure in the fashion industry and regularly champions British design talents such as Christopher Kane. She has graced the covers of Vogue, ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar as well as being the face of multiple labels and muse to designers due to her inimitable personal style.
Alexa said “I am a big supporter of British fashion talent and believe that it is essential we nurture and promote them. Scotland's cutting edge designers like Christopher Kane, Holly Fulton and Louise Gray are now creating serious waves at a global level. I am really happy to be presenting the awards and look forward to coming to Scotland in June".
Alexa will host a 3000 capacity audience made up of general guests, celebrities, supermodels, designers, industry leaders and a host of international fashion stars who will descend upon Scotland for this now globally recognised celebration of Scottish fashion and style, where the great and the good of Scottish fashion are honoured.
Organisers are also delighted to announce that the fashion and beauty bible InStyle, one of the UK’s leading fashion magazines are partnering with this year’s prestigious event.
With an eye on upcoming talent in film, fashion and beauty, InStyle showcases the very best of international style talent, offering expert advice and an inspirational edit. The British edition of this international title was launched in 2001 and is currently edited by fellow Scot Eilidh MacAskill.

The awards ceremony will be made up of nominee catwalk shows, surprise music acts and an exclusive Swarovski runway show previewing for the first time in the UK the upcoming Winter 2012 ‘Kingdom of Jewels’ fashion and couture collections, created by Nathalie Colin, the Paris based Creative Director.
