Strictly Come Dancing

The Strictly Come Dancing Live UK Tour is pleased to announce that four further celebrities have been added to the 2012 touring line-up. Joining the list of stars who will be out to wow arena audiences across the UK and Ireland are McFly heartthrob Harry Judd, ex-EastEnders legend and national treasure Anita Dobson, former footballer Robbie Savage and ex-Olympic swimmer Mark Foster.

The four celebrities will join Nancy Dell’Olio, Chelsee Healey and Jason Donovan on the tour, along with host Kate Thornton who will be returning to the live show.

The seven celebrities and their professional dance partners will be performing in front of the judging panel which this year features Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, who is also directing the arena tour for the second year running.

The multi-million pound show, now in its fifth consecutive year, opens at the Birmingham NIA on 20 January 2012 before going on to visit some of the biggest entertainment venues in the UK, including Motorpoint Arena Cardiff for the very first time.
Harry Judd said: "I'm really looking forward to the tour, although I imagine it will be very different to touring with McFly!  I can’t wait to test my new found dancing skills and as I'm quite competitive, I intend to win every night!"

Anita Dobson added: “I joined Strictly to learn to dance and it is magical that I am.  I feel so lucky to be part of the TV show and now to go on the tour and continue dancing with my partner is just a dream come true. I hope the audiences will enjoy the touring show, as much as I will enjoy dancing at every performance.”

Robbie Savage said:”I'm enjoying each week more and more and I'm really glad to be continuing the experience on tour. I can't wait to be out on the floor every night, hopefully there won't be any cameras to crash into this time!"

Whilst Mark Foster said: "My love of dancing has continued over the past couple of years and it will be great to put my dancing shoes back on and be part of Strictly again.”

Tickets for the 2012 tour went on sale in September and have been selling fast ever since. Over the last four years the tour has sold more than 1.3 MILLION tickets. On tour Strictly fans get to watch their favourite dancing couples compete live for votes and the all important feedback of the TV judges. The audience members can then vote themselves via their mobile phone.  Arena audiences will get to experience all of Strictly’s glitz, glamour and breathtaking choreography, right in front of their very eyes.

Opening at the Birmingham NIA on 20 January 2012,  the five-week dance spectacular will travel to the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, Wembley Arena, London’s O2 Arena, Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena, The Manchester Evening News Arena, Liverpool’s Echo Arena, Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena, Glasgow’s SECC, Motorpoint Arena Cardiff, Dublin’s O2 Arena and the Belfast Odyssey.

The 2011 tour received rave reviews in the national newspapers - the Sunday Express asked “Does it get much better? Not often” and awarded the show a 5 Star review.  The Daily Telegraph’s 4 Star review described the tour as “the ultimate feel good show”.  And the Mail on Sunday’s 4 star review said that “the audience adored every second”.

This year’s BBC1 series began on 30th September and has already seen Edwina Currie, Rory Bremner, Dan Lobb, Nancy Dell’Olio, Lulu and Audley Harrison voted off the show, which has been receiving TV audiences in the region of 11.5 million viewers.  The television format, also known as Dancing with the Stars, entered the Guinness Book of World Records two years ago as the world’s most successful reality television show and has been sold by BBC Worldwide to over 35 international broadcasters.  Last year’s final saw more than 14 million people tune in to see Kara Tointon raise the Strictly glitterball!
